CASTLE Hill is looking tidier thanks to the efforts of Huddersfield Rotary Club.

The volunteers helped Kirklees Council employees and found car parts and photocopier rollers dumped alongside ice cream wrappers and crisp packets.

Ann Denham, Huddersfield Rotary Club’s environment officer, said: “This is one of many events that Rotary Clubs nationally are involved with to improve their local environment in Climate Week.

Clr Peter McBride, Kirklees Cabinet member for Streetscene, said: “Most of our visitors dispose litter responsibly and Castle Hill does have its silent heroes who regularly pick litter up to keep Castle Hill litter free”.
