SAILOR Jaimie Stead has won a top shooting trophy for the second year running.

Jaimie, from Mount, has won the Queen's Medal for the champion shot in a skill-at-arms meeting between the Royal Navy and Royal Marines in Bisley, Surrey.

Jaimie, 38, who is in the Royal Navy, also won the shooting award last year.

He is only the ninth member of the Navy to win the medal.

Jaimie, whose mum Maureen Stead still lives in Huddersfield, has been in the Navy for five years.

He is based in Scotland and works in aircraft maintenance.

He previously served in the RAF, securing bases, for 12 years.

Jaimie, a former pupil of Salendine Nook High School and Huddersfield Technical College, served in both Gulf wars.
