HUDDERSFIELD Lions have a new president. Jane Armitage (below), of Netherton, was made president at a ceremony at Dalton Grange function centre. Mrs Armitage, 57, a travel consultant, has been president once before. She has chosen Hearing Dogs for Deaf People as her charity for the year. She takes over from Martin Richardson, who was one of four Lions who shared last year's presidency. He, Robert Wright, John Curtis and Bob Armitage all did three months. Mr Armitage, who is married to the new president, said: "Last year no single person wanted to do the whole year, so we shared it. This is a special year, as it is the club's 50th anniversary."
