REACHING £100,000 has made Jane Tomlinson's epic bike ride "all worthwhile" she said today as she announced she had exceeded her target.

The mother-of-three from Rothwell, near Leeds, who is dying from metastatic breast cancer, has been cycling an average of 65 miles a day on a tandem with her brother, Luke Goward for the last 30 days.

They are now in London after going through Italy and France to raise money for charity.

Today, Jane announced that the fundraising had reached £112,000.

Jane has left behind husband Mike, 43, and children Suzanne, 18, Rebecca, 16, and Steven, seven - a huge sacrifice when her time with them is precious.

Luke has also left behind his wife and three children.

"It's been a big sacrifice for Luke and I to be away from the family for so long. Achieving the figure makes the sacrifice worthwhile," said Jane.

"It's quite daunting and everyone keeps saying what a fantastic achievement. But we haven't achieved it all yet; we are not home yet and still have quite a way to go.

"The donations have all been from the public and it's amazing that people supported us and I'm very grateful."
