HUNDREDS of young people have been invited to find out about jobs and apprenticeships at an event in Huddersfield.

Calderdale and Kirklees Careers have organised a careers fair for 15 to 18-year-olds.

It takes place from 5.30pm to 8pm at the John Smith’s Stadium.

About 40 employers – all with vacancies to fill – will attend along with training providers and colleges.

Sectors covered include engineering, accountancy, retailing, hairdressing, food production and utilities.

There will also be a question-and-answer session with young people already in employment.

Careers manager Linda Beever said: “We have leafleted schools and colleges across Kirklees.

“Last year, we had 450 young people at the event and we hope to attract a similar number to this event.”
