It’s the ultimate for any Huddersfield Town fan – a scale model of the John Smith’s Stadium – made of Lego.

This model of the Terriers’ stadium took approximately 2,000 bricks and six weeks to complete.

The model, built by Lego artist Brickstand aka Chris Smith, has been snapped up by an avid Town fan.

But if you’re jealous you can buy your own fully assembled replica, measuring 63x50x15cm, for £285.

And if you’re more of a rugby fan Chris will tailor it to Giants’ specifications.

Chris, a Halifax Town fan, has been making unusual objects from Lego for about a year.

He’s made replicas of Villa Park, Birmingham; St James’ Park, Newcastle; and Celtic Park, Glasgow, as well as the grounds of smaller clubs such as Southend United and Shrewsbury Town.

The models usually take around six weeks to make, so if you want one for Christmas you’d better get your order in now.

“The person who ordered it was delighted with it.”

Chris, from Altrincham, Cheshire, said: “A guy who lives in Huddersfield commissioned it. I plan to do all 92 league clubs and maybe some more. It just depends on what people ask for.

“They’re all quite tricky but Huddersfield was the most tricky because of the shapes and curves.

“I did it from photos and Google Maps.

The John Smith’s Stadium replica was fun to make although making multiple models of the same ground is less enjoyable.

Chris, 32, said: “It’s always fun to do it for the first time. Although after a few goes you’re thinking that it’s not as much fun. I’ve made Aberdeen FC’s Pittodrie 10 times.”

With his array of intricate and creative structures, you’d imagine that Chris has been a lifelong fan of Lego – but that’s not quite the case.

Chris said: “I only got into Lego over the last year. I never really built anything before except as a kid.

“Still, it would be great if Lego asked me to do some kits.”

Though he added: “I deliver them fully assembled. It would be beyond any person to make the instructions!”
