YOUNG Huddersfield outdoor pursuits fans are being urged to grab a place in the Kielder Challenge.

The challenge, which has run annually for 20 years, was created to include youngsters with physical, sensory or learning disabilities.

All participants have to be aged eight to 13.

Teams will be chosen for the Kielder Challenge through regional heats.

The heats will be held throughout the UK during April and May.

Six teams will compete in each heat, tackling problem-solving tasks and obstacles courses to win a place in the Kielder Challenge.

The 12 top-scoring teams from the regional heats will then travel to Northumberland's Kielder Forest for the challenge in September.

Teams can be made up of children from more than one school or youth group.
