THE jury in the trial of a Berry Brow man accused of child sex abuse will resume their deliberations this morning.
Judge Peter Benson completed his summing up in the trial of 42-year-old John Darby yesterday, but after about five hours of deliberation the jury was brought back into court and told they were being sent home.
Darby, of Woodhead Road, has denied a series of charges of indecent assault and indecency with a child relating to a woman who claims he sexually abused her more than a decade ago.
Darby has told the court that the allegations were motivated by hatred and greed.
The trial continues.
