DARKNESS singer Justin Hawkins could be joining rock legends Queen.

The singer, who trained at Huddersfield Technical College, will be a guest vocalist at the London finale of the band's European tour, taking the place of their original vocalist, Freddie Mercury, who died in 1991.

And funnyman Peter Kay will also join Queen on stage at Hyde Park next Friday for a rock version of hit Amarillo.

A band insider said: "The Darkness collaboration has been on the cards for over a year, but everyone's been too busy."

Justin, 32, will take to the stage with remaining Queen stars Brian May and Roger Taylor and new frontman Paul Rodgers.

The insider added: "The song list is being kept under wraps, but it'll be a great finale."
