CONTESTANTS in a poetry class at the Mrs Sunderland Music festival wowed judges.
Adjudicator Philip Thrupp was full of praise for the entries in the open sonnet class at the festival, in Huddersfield Town Hall. He said the standard was remarkably high. The winner was Kate Mayall, of Huddersfield. Averill Farrar, of Denby Dale, took second place and Heather Pearce, of Golcar was third.
