KATIE Ogley faced every bride's nightmare when her wedding car failed to arrive.
But the story had a happy ending, as Katie managed to make it to the church on time to marry her new husband Leigh Ogley.
Katie, an office manager at Pro Valve on Leeds Road, married Leigh, national account manager for Mirfield firm John Cotton, at St Luke's Church at Cleckheaton.
She was due to be collected from the couple's Hartshead home by a wedding car - but it did not arrive.
As the noon ceremony loomed closer, Katie's brother-in-law - Pro Valve owner Paul Hunter - persuaded her to travel to church in his BMW.
She finally walked into church just 10 minutes late - to the relief of waiting groom Leigh.
After the ceremony, wedding photographer Stephen Lord, of Brighouse, saved the day by using his contacts to arrange a stylish white Rolls Royce wedding car for the couple.
He even managed to arrange champagne so the couple could toast the happy occasion.
The car took the couple to their wedding reception at Oulton Hall near Rothwell.
After the party, they left for their honeymoon in Hong Kong and the island of Koh Samui in Thailand.
The groom's mother, Yvonne Ogley, of Hepworth, said despite the problems it was a wonderful day.
She said: "Katie was very brave, she didn't let the car trouble spoil her day. It is a bride's nightmare really.
"But it turned out to be a lovely family day. We were very lucky to have Stephen Lord, he organised everything so well."
