ANXIOUS parents can now keep an eye on their little darlings - even when they are at work.

The breakthrough comes thanks to a network of webcams at their children's nursery in Huddersfield.

Kinder Castle Day Nursery in New North Road has installed the cameras so parents can see live video of their children playing.

The images can mean parents can view their children from anywhere in the world via the internet or through some mobile phones.

But only parents will be able to see the pictures, as the password-protected area of the web site is encrypted.

Nursery manager Catherine Wright said there were 10 cameras, one in each playroom.

"Since we have gone online all we have had is positive feedback," she added.

"The parents found it very beneficial because they get that extra peace of mind. It's not about checking up.

"We also give details on the website of specific activities that the children will be taking part in."

The system was produced by Sheffield firm Teletoddler. A spokesman

said: "Some children cry when they are dropped off at nursery and picked up. It is difficult for nursery staff to convince parents that they play happily in between.

"Now that won't be a problem."
