A man has been prosecuted after having a child with a woman a court banned him from seeing.

Kieran Carter, of New Laithe Close, Lowerhouses, was handed the indefinite restraining order in May 2014.

It was made to protect Jamie Lee Muxlow after Carter was convicted of assaulting her.

But Kirklees magistrates yesterday heard that following the 21-year-old’s release from prison he resumed his relationship with her.

Prosecutor Ben Crosland said: “They resumed the relationship despite the order.

“She became pregnant and gave birth to their daughter in February last year.

“Their relationship continued through to October or November when she discovered she was pregnant again.”

Magistrates heard that an incident then occurred which led to Carter being arrested.

He then admitted that between May 2014 and November 2015 he had breached his court order by being in constant contact with Miss Muxlow.

Zara Begum, mitigating, said that the relationship was now over.

She added that her client admitted being fully aware of the order when he resumed the relationship.

Magistrates ordered Carter to carry out 15 days of rehabilitation activities with the Probation Service as punishment.
