MURDER victim Jasem Asakerh had been to strip clubs on the night he was shot.

Police investigating the 28-year-old’s death believe he went to a string of venues in Huddersfield before he was gunned down in the early hours of Friday.

And they believe he could have been followed by the killer.

Mr Asakerh, known also as Mo, was in a black Audi Q7 with four other men at Brook Street in Thornton Lodge when a lone gunman fired two shots at 3.45am.

He suffered a fatal chest wound. A 26-year-old who was also in the car was injured.

The car had already been on Brook Street at about 8pm.

Det Supt Steve Payne, who is leading the inquiry, is examining CCTV to piece together the car’s movements between then and when it returned seven-and-a-half hours later.

He said: “We are trying to retrace the route of the Q7. How did it get back to Brook Street?

“There isn’t much CCTV around the area where the incident happened, so we are looking at footage from the town centre.

“We think the car went to a couple of lapdancing clubs and we want to try to find out who else was inside.

“I can’t discount the possibility the car was followed.”
