A SUCCESSFUL store in Huddersfield has been forced to close.
Morada Interiors has shut its Kingsgate shop after the company owning it went into administration.
It is understood that about 10 full-time and part-time jobs have been lost at the store.
Kingsgate centre manager Jonathan Hardy said the store had been trading well.
He said: "The company has gone into administration, which is very sad.
"But it took us by surprise because the sales at the store have been up on last year.
"It was a great `signature' store for us and in many ways epitomised the centre."
But Mr Hardy added: "The closure does not detract from the fact that the majority of tenants at Kingsgate are trading very well."
The loss of Morada Interiors means that four of the 51 shop units at Kingsgate are now empty - following the closure of The Discovery Store, The Gadget Shop and Adrenaline Junkie.
Mr Hardy said Kingsgate bosses were working hard to find new tenants for the units.
Blackburn-based Morada opened their Kingsgate store in September, 2003, to provide homeware including curtains and throws, furniture, lighting, glassware, ceramics, mirrors and original art.
Morada opened its first store in Altrincham, Cheshire, in 2002 and expanded the chain further during 2003. Along with the Kingsgate shop, its six other stores have also closed.
