TWO Kirklees schools will merge.

Brownhill Infant School and Brownhill St Saviour’s CE (VC) Junior School will be no more from next April.

Instead they’ll re-open as one, Brownhill Primary School, with a single governing body and headteacher.

They will come under the Wakefield Diocesan Board of Education on April 1 and be managed by the council.

Kirklees says there is no financial saving in merging the two schools as Government funding can only be spent on education and the costs would remain similar.
