A KIRKLEES college catering student managed not to get hot under the collar hosting a charity curry night.

Jason Holmes,19, wanted to give something back to Huddersfield Royal Infirmary, which cared for his uncle before he sadly passed away.

The talented professional cookery student hosted the event together with his friend Farhana Tasneem at the college’s Landings 72 restaurant, New North Road.

He said: “I wanted to run this charity event for the intensive care unit at HRI because they looked after my uncle very well.”

Simon Hallas, catering and hospitality tutor said: “We are always keen to encourage our students to develop their ideas.”
