STUDENTS at Kirklees College had a worldly experience.

Social and Health care students from across Huddersfield and Dewsbury were each given a country that they had to research and then create a display on either their national dress or a custom associated with that country.

Learner success team leader Dawn Jepson said: “Traditionally everybody feels the Christmas blues. People find it difficult to get back to work and the job centre statistics go up as people drop out of education.

“The event encouraged students to see education in a fun way.

“It is not all in a classroom and you can learn in a range of different environments.

“All these students will go into working in the health and social care sector and the event allowed them to understand and respect cultural differences.”
