A Kirklees Council social worker has been accused of failing to protect children and making inappropriate comments to families.
John Harry Forbes has been summoned before the Health and Care Professions Council’s Conduct and Competence Committee in London.
Mr Forbes is alleged to have promised one service user he would put him in touch with his siblings despite contact being ended due to an adoption plan.
Another service user claimed he had commented on her personal hygiene, saying that he would, “wipe her down with his beard”.
He is also accused of handing over an individual’s mother’s phone number, contrary to safeguarding procedures.
Mr Forbes is further accused of a host of failures in relation to record keeping and paperwork for more than half-a-dozen service users he was overseeing.
All the accusations occurred between September 1, 2011 and July 22, 2013.
The committee has charged him with misconduct and/or lack of competence.
A Kirklees Council spokesman said: "The council took appropriate action as soon as concerns came to light. We have co-operated fully with the HCPC investigation and we can confirm that Mr Forbes has not been employed by the council for some time.”
A hearing to determine his fitness to practice as a social worker will complete by October 2.
