A SPELL-BINDING stage show will introduce families and young people to the creative arts experiences which Kirklees has to offer.

The Lawrence Batley Theatre is hosting a special event on Saturday filled with music, dance, fashion and culture.

It aims to give young people with an interest or passion for arts and creativity a chance to try new skills.

The event is from 2pm to 5pm and will include performances of music, breakdancing, cultural displays, beatbox and more.

They will be provided by some of Kirklees’s leading youth and community organisations such as Suga Brown, Manasamitra, Soundjata and Kirklees Council’s Young People’s Service.

Adele Poppleton, Kirklees Council arts and creative economy development manager, said: “There is so much creativity by children and young people going on in Kirklees, but not everyone knows about it.

“Kirklees Creative Future events give young people a chance to try various arts activities an find out about what is going on locally so that they can continue doing something they love.”
