SIMON Cowell watch out – because a group of youngsters are hosting their own X Factor.

Young people aged 13-21 with learning difficulties have been taking part in song, dance and drama events all week.

From the X Factor to School of Rock, they’ve got creative and musical thanks to an out-of-school club organised by Dare to be Different.

Rebecca Milner, who organised the events, said: “The young people love these sort of activities. Since I’ve been running it I’ve seen them grow and gain more confidence to perform.”

Every day this week up to 25 youngsters have taken part in the musical activities.

Community music group HOOT provided instruments for the young people to have a go at. But they used their own voices to make their musical fun.

The event took place at the Quarry Hill Centre on Fleminghouse Lane in Almondbury.

Funding was provided by AIM and Rebecca, of Hot Potato Productions, ran the course.
