KIRKWOOD Hospice fundraisers are out to bag lots of cash for their cause.

Organisers of the charity’s annual spring fair have appealed for good quality handbags to sell at the event, which takes place on May 22 at the hospice in Dalton.

Spokeswoman Kate Leadbeater said: “One of our young supporters suggested a stall selling handbags, scarves and belts.

“She had seen something similar at another fundraising event and said it had proved very popular.”

Now the appeal has gone out for people to turn out their wardrobes and cupboards for unwanted, good quality handbags.

Said Kate: “ ‘Retro’ styles are back in fashion now, so I am sure the stall will attract lots of interest.”
