On Saturday, June 23, Kirkwood Hospice is celebrating its 25th Anniversary with a special Midnight Memory Walk.
More than 1,000 walkers are expected.
The 10-mile circular road walk, which starts and finishes at the Galpharm Stadium, remains the biggest fundraising event in the hospice’s calendar.
As this is Kirkwood’s anniversary year, there are slight changes to the route. The optional six-mile route will still be available on the night, but there are a few new surprises along the way.
Registration will open at 10pm and there is a full entertainment programme at the Galpharm between 10pm and 11.50pm.
There will then be a final warm up before a spectacular balloon release at 11.59pm.
A yellow ribbon is cut on the stroke of midnight to mark the start of the walk.
The route is fully marshalled and there is first aid cover throughout the night.
On receipt of a completed registration form, walkers will be sent a pack which includes a T-shirt and sponsor form.
The registration fee is £10 for adults and £5 for children aged 16 and under.
