A man brandishing a knife threatened two women and demanded money at a travel agents in Huddersfield.

Police are appealing for information following the attempted robbery at the premises on Westbourne Road in Marsh .

The man fled empty handed after one of the two women phoned the police.

The suspect is described as white, in his late 20s, skinny and with dark hair.

He was wearing a blue cagoule with the hood pulled down, and dark bottoms.

The incident took place at about 4.45pm on Monday, July 11.

Det Con Shaun Topham, of Huddersfield CID, said: “This was clearly a very frightening experience for both members of staff at the store, who were left unhurt but understandably very upset.

“Enquiries are ongoing and we would very much like to speak to anyone who has information.”

Any witnesses or anyone who saw the man in the minutes before or after the attempted robbery are being asked to contact DC5991 Morrison at Huddersfield CID on 101.
