A HIT-AND-RUN driver knocked a teenager off his new moped.
The 16-year-old, from Brighouse, had taken the 50cc MBK for a short run on Alder Street at Fartown at 2pm yesterday while his mother was paying for it at DC Motorcycles on the same road.
But on his way back to the shop and with less than a mile on the clock, he was clipped by a car and sent crashing to the ground.
He suffered grazes to his arms and legs and the bike was damaged.
The car sped off. It is a dark blue Renault Clio with tinted windows. It may have a spoiler.
It was travelling from Fartown down Alder Street towards Hillhouse.
The driver is believed to be an African- Caribbean man.
The police helicopter joined the search for the car, but it had vanished.
The victim's previous moped was stolen three weeks ago.
