SCAPEGOAT Hill siblings Michael and Siobhan Jordan have taken their magic tricks to the silver screen.

Michael, 14, and Siobhan, 17, have starred in a short film called High Jinx and The Magician's Nightmare.

They appeared under their stage name High Jinx - and wrote the script.

The film was shot in the style of a comic silent movie by their uncle, Paul Jordan, and Paul Guntrip - both members of Huddersfield Film and Cine Club.

The film was shown at the World Magic Seminar in Las Vegas - which is run by Lance Burton and famous magic duo Siegfried and Roy.

For the first time ever, one night of the seminar was dedicated to magic-themed films.

High Jinx and The Magician's Nightmare got through to the final eight and was shown at the Monte Carlo Hotel to 500 magicians from all over the world.

The duo's father, Mark Jordan, said they are currently working on another short film.

He said: "We haven't got a title as yet and the script is still in the early stages.

"But it will be another comedy and in the vein of `High Jinx and the Goblet of Tea' - taking the rise out of Harry Potter.

"We have found some good locations to date but are looking for an old school room."

It was the first time on screen for Siobhan, but not for her little brother.

Michael appeared last September on CITV magic show Tricky TV.

He is currently waiting to hear whether he will be appearing in the next series of the children's show.

As well as becoming screen stars, Michael and Siobhan have been entertaining crowds at magic competitions.

They recently picked up four major trophies.

They came second in the Annual Stage Competition at the Northern Magic Circle's 50th Convention.

For this, they received the Northern Magic Circle Silver Jubilee Trophy.

Michael also gained the Northern Magic Circle Swanbrook Trophy - awarded for contributions to magic throughout the year.

He won this with a record number of points.

Michael also took the Young Magician's Club Trick of the Month title - an accolade which has just come into being.

Siobhan and Michael triumphed over adult competitors to win the West Lancs Stage Magician of the Year title.

Over Easter, they also performed at a bi-annual event, where members of the Young Magician's Club entertain the national Magic Circle.

They have shows booked during the summer, but Michael may have to manage without his sister for a while, as she is busy with other projects.

She is currently appearing at the Lawrence Batley Theatre with Huddersfield Thespians in Stepping Out and is preparing to sit her A-levels.

Dad Mark said: "They have both really enjoyed doing the theatre work and are looking for more of this type of work for the experience."
