Voters have a final chance to grill general election candidates in the key marginal Colne Valley constituency.

All seven candidates for the parliamentary seat will attend Colne Valley Question Time in Marsden Mechanics Hall at 7.30pm on Monday, April 27.

The event is free to attend with no booking required, but people wishing to ask questions should post them in advance via a webpage at www.bit.ly/colnevalleyquestiontime or by filling in a form at Marsden Mechanics.

Event organiser, Barney Stevenson, said: “We are very pleased to be the only hustings event in the area to secure the participation of all seven candidates.

“The Colne Valley is a three-way marginal in the top twenty-five marginal constituencies in the UK. It should be a lively and informative event.”

It will be chaired by Tom Lonsdale, who is a trustee of Marsden Community Trust, who said: “Marsden Mechanics is a perfect location for this type of event – as a building with no political affiliation and with its origins in adult education, it is ideal as a neutral space in which to discuss and understand the issues facing the local area and the country.”

CANDIDATES: Chas Ball (Green Party), Cahal Burke (Liberal Democrat), Jane East (Labour), Jason McCartney (Conservative), Melanie Roberts (United Kingdom Independence Party), Paul Salveson (Yorkshire First) and Melodie Staniforth (no party).
