A FORMER cancer patient has received an award for her work to help the Laura Crane Youth Cancer Trust.
Jane Moran was presented with Laura’s Star at the trust’s 15th anniversary Crystal Ball.
Jane, who was treated for cancer as a teenager, contacted the trust last year with an offer to help meet their design needs free of charge.
Jane, who founded graphic and website design agency Frank & Alex Creative Services with her husband Ben last June, wanted the company to demonstrate high standards of ethical business behaviour. Part of this vision meant providing free services to a local charity.
Frank & Alex, based at Newsome, has since worked closely with the charity in a rebrand project which saw them nominated as a finalist in the Third Sector Excellence Awards.
The trust funds research into cancers that affect teenagers and young people and provide much needed teenage cancer units.
Receiving the award at the ball, held at the Cedar Court Hotel in Bradford, came as a complete surprise, said Jane. “They sprung it on me a little bit,” she said. “We have been working with the trust for a year now and we were invited as special guests. When they gave me an award I was lost for words.”
