LEONA Urquhart has just won her first car – even though she can’t drive yet.

The Brighouse shop assistant was the winner of a brand new Fiat Punto after entering a competition at her driving school.

But learner driver Leona has still to convince the examiner she can drive.

The Tesco shop worker is due to sit her first test this week and hopes to tear up her L-plates and motor off in her new car.

Leona won the car through a competition at Learner Driver Training Centres, in Moldgreen, where she has lessons.

Chris Morris, managing director, said: “Leona is the second of our pupils to win a car and she couldn’t have been happier.

“She was over the moon about it. It’s not every day a young girl wins her first car.

“She will sit her first test this week and we all really hope she passes and can drive her car away.”

Leona entered a competition with the Moldgreen driving school which has been running a promotion which gives away three cars during the year.

Every driving lesson Leona, like all the other pupils, was given an entry form to enter the competition.

She was the lucky learner picked, with Martyn Short taking the second prize of £1,000 and Andrea Unsworth coming third and winning £250.
