The female teacher stabbed to death at Corpus Christi Catholic College has been named on social media as Anne Maguire.

Mrs Maguire who is believed to have taught Spanish and been a Head of Year at the West Yorkshire school was stabbed this morning.

She died from her injuries.

A 15-year-old pupil has been arrested and is being questioned by police.

Schoolchildren and former pupils have paid tribute to the teacher

One pupil wrote: "I don't believe it, my thoughts are with you and your family rest in piece miss Maguire."

Another said: "Cannot believe one of my high school teachers has been stabbed in school & died, what is life coming to! #Rip #MissMaguire"

 

Another wrote: "R.I.P Miss Maguire. What a lovely woman, thanks for everything xx"

One schoolgirl posted: "Rip miss maguire by far the most caring teacher in that school, she's now a star in the sky"
