Changes could be on the way to a business park in Oakes.

The owner is seeking to change the use of the Crosland Road units from industrial to a mix of assembly and leisure.

An application, submitted to Kirklees Council, says the site, once occupied by Decorative Panels, has largely been empty for a few years with only part of it occupied.

The owner, Nigel Dyson, has had enquiries about using the buildings for children’s play centre, gym, fitness centre and leisure uses.

“The proposed uses would encourage employment and activities for the general community to enjoy,” the application says.

The application is open to public comments at Kirklees Council until October 6.
