A MURDER trial jury heard a harrowing recording of the 999 call made by the mother of tragic youngster Leticia Wright.

Sharon Wright could be heard telling the operator that her daughter was not breathing and she thought she had fallen over and banged her head.

A distressed Wright was given instructions about how to perform the kiss of life and how to compress her daughter's heart in an effort to resuscitate the four-year-old.

At one stage Wright could be heard saying: ''One breath five pumps . . . one breath five pumps.''

The recording, which lasted more than six minutes, eventually ended with the arrival of the emergency services and Leticia was rushed to hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.

Wright, 23, of Almondbury Bank, Moldgreen, and her then boyfriend, Peter Seaton, 22, of Meadow Lane, Northallerton, have denied murdering Leticia.

The prosecution says Leticia was subjected to deliberate and brutal violence before her death last November.
