A MAN has been remanded in custody charged in connection with the death of four-year-old Leticia Wright.

North Yorkshire man Peter Seaton, 21, appeared before Huddersfield Magistrates yesterday charged with causing or allowing the death of a child.

The charge is part of the 2004 Domestic Violence Crime And Victims Act and is the same one faced by Leticia's mother last week.

Seaton, of Meadow Lane, Northallerton, was living at a house on Almondbury Bank, Moldgreen, with his girlfriend, 22-year-old Sharon Wright.

Leticia was Wright's daughter.

Wright was remanded in custody last Wednesday and is due to appear before Bradford Crown Court for a preliminary hearing tomorrow.

Seaton made no application for bail.

He will next appear at Bradford Crown Court on Tuesday, December 5.

Leticia had been a pupil in the nursery unit at Moldgreen Community School for a few weeks before her death.

She collapsed at home and was taken to Huddersfield Royal Infirmary where she died a short time later in the early hours of Sunday, November 19.

Her death was due to complications arising from multiple injuries.
