BTEC students face agonising extra wait as results 'delayed for 2/3 weeks'
We’re hearing some students are still waiting for their results and may be waiting for a further ‘two to three weeks’.
Huddersfield mum Rachael Lilley says her son Aaron is still waiting for his BTEC results.
And Aaron, 18, says he’ll be waiting for up to three more weeks to find out if he’s passed his Level 3 qualification in IT.
Results: Creative Media Studio School
Here are the results from the Creative Media Studio School in Rawthorpe.
The Studio School has seen an increase in the achieved maximum grades across the BTEC and A2 pathways from this year group. With 100% of A Level pass grades at C and above, 98% of BTEC grades at pass and above, and 37% of grades across both A2 and BTEC courses in the highest mark bands.
Head Laura Lee said: “This year’s cohort of students are extremely special to us. They are so talented that I can’t wait to see how they go on to develop. They have made us incredibly proud, and we will very much miss their energy.”
Student carer clinches top grades to get dream university place
A Huddersfield student who is a full time carer alongside her studies has received straight A*s.
Greenhead student Grace Goswami didn’t disclose in her university application that she was a young carer as she didn’t want ‘special treatment’ and was worried it may affect her chances of getting her dream place at Newcastle University. Today Grace was told she received three A*s.
She said: “I was not expecting these grades and I have never cried tears of happiness until today. I came on my own to Greenhead College and have really grown in confidence. I wouldn’t have got these results if it hadn’t been for the support from my personal tutor.”
Fantastic news for Grace - we wish her all the best in the world. She is pictured below with friend Jack Hopkins, who also got top grades and is going to to study dentistry.
*If you spend money there...
Nando’s are doing a student special today offering free chicken to any students with ID cards picking up their results who spend at least £7. The offer is valid at all branches - including in Huddersfield town centre.
Harvester are also doing a discount deal of 20% off the bill for any table of six or more students. KFC is also doing a deal for hungry students, with the offer of a free mini fillet snackbox for anyone with student ID buying a Krushem milkshake. There’s a bit of a catch though, as you’ve got to be registered with Student Beans to redeem the offer.
