LIBERAL Democrats in the Colne Valley have chosen their candidate for the next General Election.

Dr Elisabeth Wilson, from Todmorden, has been an active environmental campaigner against climate change.

She lectures in Manchester and has done consultancy work for the Government in Africa and Latin America.

After a management career, she now teaches management skills to help leaders of developing countries build their economies. She holds a PhD and a Master of Business Administration from Huddersfield University.

She also has experience as a school governor and a health authority member.

In her spare time she enjoys walking, yoga, gardening and going to the theatre. She has two grown-up children and is a Quaker.

"The Liberal Democrats have already proved they can win in the Colne Valley. Five out of six wards were won in the Kirklees elections in May," said Dr Wilson. "I want those who voted for us at the local level to do the same in the General Election."
