KIRKLEES Mayor Clr Mary Harkin will officially re-open the refurbished Batley Library on Thursday.
It reopened for business at the end of February after major refurbishment costing nearly £500,000.
As well as being completely re-decorated and re-carpeted, the library has had a new heating system installed.
Also, a three-storey extension has been built to accommodate a lift and more accessible toilets.
During the 12-month project, a reduced library service operated from Batley Town Hall.
Thursday's ceremony will shut the library to the public between 11.30am and 2pm.
