A HUDDERSFIELD funeral director is helping war veterans commemorate their fellow soldiers in style on Remembrance Day.

A E Cooper and Son in Crosland Hill Road, Crosland Moor, will collect six residents from Wellersley Court, Golcar, in a chauffeur- driven limousine.

The limousine will take them to Greenhead Park war memorial in Huddersfield for a service at 11am on Tuesday.

The service will be conducted by Mr Jack West, president of the Huddersfield branch of the Royal British Legion, and fellow servicemen.

The idea was suggested by A E Cooper employee, Helen Beresford.

Mr Keith Clegg, manager of A E Cooper & Son which is part of Co-operative Funeralcare, said: "We are pleased to be able to help out and transport the veterans to the service."

He said it would otherwise have been difficult for them to attend, as they did not have their own transport.
