Lightcliffe pro golfer Ron Tickle arrested

A PROFESSIONAL golfer and his wife have been arrested on suspicion of fraud.

A PROFESSIONAL golfer and his wife have been arrested on suspicion of fraud.

Police swooped on Lightcliffe Golf Club in Wakefield Road, Lightcliffe, with Royal Mail officials to arrest the pair.

The arrested man, Ron Tickle, is leader of the club’s golf school.

Police confirmed two people in their 40s had been arrested in Lightcliffe on Thursday on suspicion of fraud.

The pair have been released on bail pending further inquiries.

Mr Tickle started work at Lightcliffe Golf Club in 2005.

A spokeswoman for Royal Mail said: “We are working with the police on an investigation but we will not discuss any investigation details.”
