TWO choirs are joining forces to raise money for a Huddersfield school.

The award-winning Lindley Junior School Choir is teaming up with the newly-formed Lindley Community Choir and proceeds are destined for Castle Hill School in Newsome.

The school is for pupils with profound and complex special needs.

The Community Choir was formed last May and includes enthusiastic singers of all ages from four-year-olds to pensioners which means that children, former pupils, teenagers, parents and grandparents can share the experience of singing together.

They will be performing songs including You Raise Me Up and Alexander’s Ragtime Band.

The school choir’s repertoire will include All Things Bright And Beautiful and Take These Wings.

The choir’s leader, Alison North, said: “Castle Hill School is a place close to my heart as my son, Alexander, is a pupil there.’’

The concert will be at St Stephen’s Parish Church opposite the clock tower this Thursday at 7pm.

Tickets cost £6 with £4 concessions and are available from Lindley Junior School.
