SUICIDE bomber Jermaine Lindsay's links with extreme Islamist groups are being probed by anti-terror police.
As reported exclusively in the Examiner last month Lindsay, who grew up in Rawthorpe, is believed to have been involved in an attempt to set up an al-Muhajiroun cell in Birkby.
Now links are being investigated between that cell and others in Luton just 20 miles from Lindsay's last home in Aylesbury.
The hardline al-Muhajiroun welcomed the attacks on the Twin Towers in New York and founder Omar Bakri Mohammad refuses to condemn the London bombings which killed 52 on July 7.
Al-Muhajiroun disbanded last year but former members have already formed new splinter groups.
Leaders of the smaller groups - the most notorious being the Saviour Sect - have already predicted more attacks by British Muslims in the UK.
Scotland Yard sources have confirmed they are looking closely at Jamaican-born Lindsay's links with Luton - known to have been a hotbed of al-Muhajiroun activity.
It is believed the 19-year-old could have left Huddersfield after the strong moderate Muslim community rejected the al-Muhajiroun and booted them out of their Bay Hall Common Road base in Birkby two years ago.
Lindsay did travel to Luton to worship while he lived in the South and police there have said he appears to have had links to criminal activity.
His car was found with a further nine bombs in the boot just days after the bombings at Luton Station.
It has also been revealed by British Intelligence sources that last year the former Rawthorpe High student was investigated after being named "on the periphery" of a major anti-terrorist investigation.
Details of that investigation cannot be reported as suspects are due in court in the coming months.
