A MAN has appeared in court charged with attacking his partner twice.

Daniel Schofield, 24, went before Huddersfield magistrates yesterday.

He is charged with assaulting Heather Kelly at her home in Palm Court, Garden Street, Lockwood, on October 2.

There he is alleged to have grabbed Miss Kelly by the throat and kicked her before throwing her against a wall and slapping her repeatedly.

Schofield, of Wood Close Bottom in Linthwaite, was arrested by police and bailed on the condition that he would not contact her.

However on October 16, he did go to see his girlfriend again.

Then he allegedly pushed her down onto a sofa, holding his hands across his face and then forced her to take a shower to wash the blood away.

Schofield denies the two assault allegations.

Magistrates remanded him in custody his next hearing at the court on November 3.
