Gritters out tonight

Calderdale Council says its gritters will continue to treat primary and secondary routes overnight. The council says: “Tonight’s conditions are tricky, with snow rain and sleet, meaning grit can be less effective. Some of our roads are already sub-zero, so please take care and be aware of the possibility of black ice forming on both treated and untreated roads and footpaths.”

A jealous 28-year-old who strangled his partner to death at the Calderdale home where she lived with their two young children has been jailed for life for her murder today.
