M621 closed westbound
There is very slow traffic and the main carriageway is closed due to a vehicle fire on the M621 westbound at M62 Junction 27 Gildersome.
It is affecting traffic out of Leeds towards Bradford.
A diversion is in place.

The crash at Ainley Top involved two cars and a van. All vehicles are on the hard shoulder, awaiting recovery.
There have been no reports of injuries. It happened on the exit slip road of the westbound carriageway and has caused serious congestion.

Police believe the M62 crash at Ainley Top was actually on the westbound exit slip road - not east as previously reported.
Two vehicles are believed to be involved. Both are on the hard shoulder. There are no reports of any injuries.

There is very slow traffic and a lane is closed on exit slip road due to multi-vehicle accident on the M62 Eastbound at Ainley Top.
Update: Leeds Road crash
West Yorkshire Police say that nobody has been hurt in the crash, which involved a Ford Fiesta, a Hyundai i30 and a third vehicle.
The crash was reported at just after 4.30pm today.
Traffic is managing to get past the scene but it is slow going in both directions.
Leeds Road 'partly blocked'
Traffic is very slow and Leeds Road is partially blocked due to a multi-vehicle accident on Leeds Road near Bradley Mills Road.
The crash outside Enterprise rent-a-car is causing problems in both directions.

Door to door salesman in Shelley
Police are warning of a door to door salesman in the area in Shelley.
Be aware, always ask for ID and don’t feel forced into giving any money or details away. Shelley is a no cold-calling zone.
Police roll out new armour vans
Police are rolling out 22 brand new armour vans known as “Protected Personnel Carriers”.
The current vehicles are being replaced by the Mercedes Sprinter 516CDi, which are said to be better value for money.
West Yorkshire Police Head of Transport, Steve Thompson said: “They offer the most advanced level of protection we have ever seen, which has been achieved through the introduction of innovative design standards and construction techniques.”
Release date announced for Jo Cox charity single
A “protest” charity single recorded in memory of murdered MP Jo Cox - which features politicians and stars from the world of music - is set to be released next month.
Stars including Ricky Wilson from the Kaiser Chiefs and KT Tunstall appear on the cover of the Rolling Stones’ “You Can’t Always Get What You Want”, as well as the new Batley & Spen MP Tracey Brabin.
The single comes out on December 16 with proceeds going towards the Jo Cox Foundation, supporting her favourite charities. Producer Robin Millar said: “This is essentially a protest record as we believe a piece of music can still make a statement.”

The Station’s chief mouser has made the headlines again today after a local artist painted her portrait. Now we can reveal her book deal with Penguin publishers.
The 256-page hardback chronicles her life and adventures since she was born into station life five years ago. Unfortunately though, you’ll have to wait until February next year until it hits the shelves.

RSPCA holding festive fun with furry friends
The RSCPA’s Calderdale branch are holding an event to meet animals and get the early Christmas celebrations in this weekend.
The charity are holding their Family Christmas Open Day and Fair on Sunday at their Animal Centre on Wade Street. The event starts at 12.00pm and finishes at 3pm.
This is a festive family day including stalls, games and Santa Claus, who will be here in his grotto with his reindeer. You can meet the animals and even have a chance to do a bit of shopping for your stocking fillers with a glass of mulled wine!
