A woman in her 70s has been injured after she was hit by a car in Fartown.

The incident happened on Spaines Road, near the junction with Bradford Road, just before 5pm and involved a Vauxhall Astra.

The Astra stopped at the scene.

M62: All lanes now open

The broken down vehicle which was causing slow traffic between Brighouse and Ainley Top has now been removed.

All lanes are now open.

Travel: M62 'slow'

One lane is closed and there is slow traffic due to broken down vehicle on the M62 westbound between Brighouse and Ainley Top.
Lane one (of four) is closed, affecting traffic travelling from Bradford towards Huddersfield.

Temporary traffic lights at the ring road

Mutton up - it’s cold out there, you know:

Weather update

Weatherman Paul Stevens says we shouldn’t expect any more snow falls tonight.

The Met Office has yellow warnings in place for ice for tonight and tomorrow, although temperatures look set to settle at about 3-4 degrees tomorrow (scorchio!) so this shouldn’t be too much of a hazard later on in the day.

Meanwhile, in Germany...

This fox was found frozen in blocks of ice on the Danube as temperatures over there drop to -30 degrees. Sadly, the poor creature has already died by the time it was found.

Greenfield Road is now open. Take care up there - the snow may have mostly melted down here but the tops are still blanketed in the stuff.

Traffic and buses returning to normal

Snowmageddon - if there was one - is over, folks. Buses are back to normal. Woodhead Road is still closed, however. Still waiting to hear whether Greenfield Road is safe to go...

Video shows extent of terrible road conditions due to snow

It may not be snowmageddon today, but one motorist in Holmfirth was forced to turn around when conditions got so bad last night.

Ryan Hamer sent us his scary video which shows the extent of how bad the roads were.

You can read the full story and watch the video for yourself here.

Karen Matthews documentary to be aired tonight

A documentary on Karen Matthews will be aired tonight.

Faking It focuses on the behaviour of Matthews in the days she lied about daughter Shannon being missing, whipping up a media frenzy.

It includes input from former Yorkshire evening Post Crime Reporter Richard Edwards, who reported extensively on the case and even wrote a book on it.

You can catch it on ID channel at 10pm tonight.

Broken down lorry causes chaos at Ainley Top

This was the lorry which broke down at Ainley Top roundabout traffic lights just earlier. As you can see, it’s shut off an entire lane and caused tailbacks going right back onto the M62.

Recovery services are at the scene but there may be a know on effect for a short while...

M62: Delays at junction 24

Well, I stand corrected when I updated everyone earlier to say all was quiet on the M62...

Broken down lorry at Ainley Top

We’ve had reports that there’s a broken lorry at Ainley Top where you come onto the roundabout from the M62 junction 24. This is blocking one lane and causing traffic, although a recovery crew is currently at the scene.

Changes to 310 bus

An update on buses between Huddersfield and Holmfirth:

Woodhead Pass is clear

Earlier busy traffic on the Woodhead Pass has returned to normal if you’re heading that way towards Manchester from Holmfirth. Traffic was from the Flouch Roundabout onwards but all seems to be clear now.

Holmfirth bus service cancelled

Is there no end to the suffering?

Slow traffic in Halifax

Very slow traffic on Bradford Road in Halifax currently.

This is at the junction with Leeds Road.
