Traffic update: M62 west
The crash near Chain Bar on the M62 westbound involved up to four vehicles, according to police.
It was reported just after 6.10 tonight.
Police said it had been classed as a “damage only” incident.

One lane is closed and there is slow traffic due to a multi-vehicle accident on the M62 westbound at Chain Bar.
Lane one is closed.
Fitzwilliam Street closed by accident
Fitzwilliam Street in currently both directions closed due to an accident between A62 Castlegate and John William Street / St John’s Road.
Police name murder victim
Police investigating a murder in Halifax have named the man who died.
Darren Moorhouse, 49, died after being attacked at Athol Close, off Athol Road in Ovenden on Wednesday afternoon this week.
Two men aged 33 and 25 arrested yesterday remain in police custody.
A 31-year-old woman was also arrested late on Wednesday evening on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody.
Anyone who has any information about the incident is asked to contact police via 101 quoting 646 of January 18.

Man released over 'suspect package' found in Leeds
A man arrested following a ‘suspicious package’ discovery in Leeds yesterday has been bailed.
The suspect, 35, was held after a suspicious package was removed from Harewood Street, near Victoria Gate, on Wednesday morning.
Shoppers and workers were evacuated for several hours while army bomb disposal experts dealt with the device, which they later declared safe.
Dalton man admits possessing indecent images of children
Police found more than 100 sick images of children when they raided a Dalton man’s home.
They executed a search warrant at the address in Holays on January 18 following a tip-off that there may be indecent images of children there.
Daniel Woolnough, 24, appeared at Kirklees Magistrates’ Court today.
He pleaded guilty to two charges of making indecent photographs of children.

Earlier this year the force announced it is aiming to recruit around 300 new police officers in the next year, and is particularly keen to receive applications from people from diverse groups.
Back in June there were a total of 658 applicants and out of those 27 per cent applied were from diverse groups and backgrounds.
The recruitment comes amid a national backdrop within which Prime Minister Theresa May warned all police forces in the country that diversity was not “optional”.
Evil pair jailed for child cruelty
An evil mum and her drug dealer boyfriend who gave a four-year-old girl diazepam and heroin for up to six months before she died of a heart attack have been jailed for 13 years.
Hull Crown Court has heard how Michala Pyke fed her daughter, Poppy Widdison, sedatives because she was an “inconvenience” to her relationship with John Rytting.
Poppy died in June 2013 after suffering a cardiac arrest at Rytting’s “squalid” home, in Grimsby, North East Lincolnshire, where prescription and controlled drugs were “left lying around”.
Toxicology tests found Poppy had ingested significant amounts of heroin and methadone for a period of between two and six months before her death.
Sentencing, Judge Jeremy Richardson QC told Pyke she was a ‘malevolent woman’ and an ‘unfit mother’.
Murder probe continues
A third person has been arrested in connection with a Halifax murder investigation.
Police were called to Athol Close, off Athol Road in Ovenden shortly after 1.15pm yesterday following reports that a man had been attacked.
Officers attended and 49-year-old man with serious injuries. He was treated by paramedics but died at the scene.
A post mortem examination carried out to determine the cause of death is due to take place this afternoon.

Schools visited by bomb squad
More than 40 schools in Yorkshire were visited by the bomb squad last night.
The alarm was raised and after staff discovered potentially hazardous chemical on the premises.
The chemical, which is included on the A Level chemistry syllabus, can be used safely if stored correctly but presents a hazard if left to dry out.
But army bomb disposal experts destroyed the dangerous substances as a precaution.
Education officers were advised to check whether they had historic supplies of 2.4 dinitrophenylhydrazine (DNPH) last autumn.

Believe it or not, there’s going to be a film based on smartphone emojis - and Sir Patrick Stewart is voicing the POO!
Mirfield-born Sir Pat is known for his stage and screen work - and he’s going to be playing Poop Daddy in The Emoji Movie, set to hit the big screen in summer.
Other stars include Silicon Valley star TJ Miller, Broad City star Ilana Glazer and James Corden.
The plot follows the story of Gene, an emoji with multiple expressions who sets out on a journey to become a normal emoji.
Other stars include American Pie actress Jennifer Coolidge and Bridesmaids star Maya Rudolph.
Heavy traffic on M62 at junction 26
Traffic on the M62 around Cleckheaton might be a little slow - there’s been reports of heavy traffic on the M62 Eastbound at J26 M606 / A58 (Chain Bar).
Police called to Birkby crash at 6.40am
We’ve just received some more details from a West Yorkshire Police spokeswoman.
Police were called to the two vehicle crash in Blacker Road at 6.40am this morning - the crash involved a silver Nissan estate and a white VW Transporter.
The driver of the Transporter had minor injuries and an ambulance attended the scene, but he did not need to go to hospital.
Enquiries are ongoing.
