Porn actress offering 'services' sparks complaints
A porn actress from Yorkshire who is touring the UK offering sex in the back of her motorhome is on her way to Huddersfield – and police are powerless to stop her.
Sex worker ‘Kirie’ sparked complaints to police in other towns after men were said to be queueing outside her motorhome.
The 34-year-old from Whitby, who has appeared in a number of adult films, reportedly parked on double yellow lines in Nottingham earlier this week.
Broken down vehicle lengthening tailbacks
One lane closed and very slow traffic due to earlier accident and broken down vehicle on M62 Westbound between J23 A640 / A643 (Huddersfield) and J22 A672 (Rishworth Moor), congestion on M62 to J25 A644 (Brighouse).
Lane one (of three) remains closed due to a broken down vehicle that was involved in the earlier accident.
Rush hour round-up
Slow traffic at the follow spots:
- A629 Halifax Road / Huddersfield Road heading towards Ainley Top roundabout in both directions.
- A629 Wakefield Road heading from Dalton to Waterloo
- A644 Wakefield Road from the M62 junction 25 (Brighouse) in both directions
- A644 Huddersfield Road through Ravensthorpe towards Mirfield
M62 also very slow eastbound between junctions 22 (Rishworth Moor) and 23 (Outlane) following a crash earlier this afternoon.

M62 crash leads to tailbacks
Very slow traffic and one lane closed due to accident on M62 westbound between J23 A640 / A643 (Huddersfield) and J22 A672 (Rishworth Moor).
Lane one (of three) is closed.
Accident happened just past Stott Hall Farm.
Vandals go on window smashing spree
Angry drivers have been left counting the cost after vandals left a trail of destruction.
Car windows were smashed at locations including in roads in Netherton, Longwood, South Crosland, Berry Brow, Armitage Bridge and Lockwood, between Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning.
Some residents also reported that house windows had also been smashed.
It is not clear if the attacks are linked or the work of one person or gang.
Traffic returns to normal following ring road crash
Traffic has returned to normal at the junction of Spring Grove Street and Merton Street following an accident involving three cars.
Debris has been removed from the road in front of Huddersfield Leisure Centre.
Traffic returns to normal on Wakefield Road
Traffic has returned to normal and the contraflow has been removed following water main burst on Wakefield Road, Dalton early this morning.
Yorkshire Water was alerted at around 7am to the incident on Wakefield Road, Moldgreen, near Ravensknowle Park.
The force of the burst caused water to break through the tarmac leaving huge holes in the bus lane.
Police were called to manage traffic and the road was shut in both directions during rush-hour.

Fire service thank Manchester Fire crew for helping extinguish moor blaze
Huddersfield fire fighters have thanked Manchester Fire Service for helping them tackle a moorland blaze on Saddleworth Moor on Sunday night.
Crews from Huddersfield, Rastrick and across West Yorkshire were called to the scene near junction 22.
Group Manager Toby May said: “It was apparent immediately that we were going to be dealing with a large scale moorland wildfire that was severely wind driven. The fire was approximately half a mile in distance and was in a V shape, the flames were about eight feet in height at some points.
“I must say that I was immensely proud and impressed by the work ethic and professionalism of all personnel that dealt with the incident, including the support we received from Greater Manchester FRS. The fire was challenging in terms of size, location and intensity but crews worked tirelessly to extinguish the fire and contain the incident – a job very well done.”
Vandals target Kirkheaton Community Centre
A warning to the residents of Kirkheaton that there appears to be a classified idiot in the area.
Volunteers at Kirkheaton Community Centre were met with this sight earlier today, after discovering vandals had smashed up daffodils.
Beverley Burns, who volunteers at the centre run by Yetton Together, said: “It’s just heartbreaking when the place is run almost entirely by volunteers trying to do some good.
“[The centre] has had repeated visits from vandals but [they] left this mess last night. Police just estimated £160 for the plants and clean up.”
WATCH: Police at the scene of three-car collision
Police have said they were called to the scene of a collision at 1.25pm.
A spokeswoman said: “We were called to a collision involving three cars. A black Nissan, grey Astra and black Audi were in collision. One person is being treated for shock.
“An ambulance also attended the scene.”
Three-vehicle crash on Huddersfield ring road
We’re hearing reports of a multi-vehicle accident on Huddersfield ring road by the Leisure Centre.
The accident, involving three cars, is at the junction with Merton Street on the clockwise carriage. One lane has been closed and traffic is coping well, but a heads up if there’s any delays.
An eyewitness says one of the vehicles, an Audi A4 estate, appears to have hit a lamp post. Police and an ambulance are at the scene.
Man denies owning dangerously out of control dog in David Ellam case
A Sheepridge man has denied being the owner of a dog which was dangerously out of control following the fatal attack of David Ellam.
Aaron Joseph, 29, pleaded not guilty to the charge at Leeds Crown Court earlier today. The charge relates to the incident on August 15 last year when Mr Ellam, 52, was bitten near his home while walking his Yorkshire terrier.
Joseph, of Riddings Road, pleaded guilty to possessing a quantity of cannabis on the same date. The Recorder of Leeds, Judge Peter Collier QC, fixed a provisional trial date of February 5 next year but said he hoped that could be brought forward. Joseph was released on conditional bail.
Three people rescued after being trapped in multi-vehicle collision
Fire services attended a four vehicle collision in Halifax earlier this morning.
Three people were trapped and had to be extricated from the vehicles on Thrum Hall Lane after services were called shortly after 11am.
Crews from Odsal, Halifax and Illingworth attended the scene.
CCTV appeal for bobble hat man
Do you recognise this bobble-hatted gent? Kirklees Police have released a CCTV still following a incident of making off without payment.
The incident occurred yesterday. Anyone with information should contact police via 101.
Government to axe exams for seven-year-olds
Exams for seven-year-olds are set to be axed, it’s been announced this morning.
The tests - known as SATs - are to be removed from the curriculum in order to “reduce the burden” of assessment on teachers and pupils in a move made by the Department for Education.
Ministers are now proposing to bring in a new teacher assessment for four and five-year-olds in the reception year of infant school - the year before formal schooling officially begins.
Muslim group hosting event to dispel Quran myths
A Muslim group is inviting the wider community to ask them questions about the Holy Quran.
The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community want to remove misconceptions about the Holy Book and is holding an exhibition day at Huddersfield Town Hall next Saturday for people to find out more.
Man due in court over David Ellam dog death
A man is due in court today charged with owning a dangerous dog which killed David Ellam.
Mr Ellam, 52, died from his injuries after he was attacked in August last year near his home in Sheepridge.
Aaron Joseph, 29, is due at Leeds Crown Court for a plea and case management hearing, charged with owning a dog that was dangerous and out of control.
Police appeal for witnesses to Berry Brow blaze
A statement from West Yorkshire Police on the fire at Mr Happy takeaway in Berry Brow.
“Police were called to premises on Waingate in Berry Brow around 2.24am following a report of a fire at the location.
“Enquiries are ongoing to determine the circumstances. Anyone with information should contact police via 101 quoting 13170143318”
Girl remains in serious condition after school asthma attack
A schoolgirl is still in a serious condition in hospital this morning after a suspected severe asthma attack in school.
The female Year 8 pupil was airlifted from Westborough High School in Dewsbury to hospital yesterday afternoon. A spokesperson for the school said that the situation remained the same this morning.

Police arrest two men after car chase at Lindley Moor
We have an update on the police chase which ended on Lindley Moor Road yesterday afternoon - police say they have arrested two men.
A spokesman said last night:
“Officers attended on Lindley Moor Road, Huddersfield this afternoon following enquiries.
“Two men in an Audi car were arrested on suspicion of firearms offences and are in custody this evening. Enquiries remain ongoing.”

We’ve been to Berry Brow this morning where a fire has ripped through the Mr Happy takeaway on Waingate.
Fire services say there was no sign of anyone in the building on their arrival but it is currently being investigated.
Woman's body in lake "not suspicious"
And on the subject of Leeds news - police have confirmed that a woman’s body found in a lake in a popular park is not being treated as suspicious.
The woman, thought to be in her fifties, was found in Waterloo Lake at Roundhay Park on Tuesday.
Police said this morning: “We have now established the identity of a woman whose body was found in Waterloo Lake in Roundhay Park on Tuesday. Her death is not being treated as suspicious and the Coroner’s Office has been informed.
“We are grateful to everyone who responded to the appeal for information. Any further information relating to the death will come through the inquest process.”
Police close road in Leeds city centre
If you work in Leeds or are even heading in to do a bit of shopping, just a heads up that one of the roads in the city centre is closed this morning due to an ongoing police incident.
Eastgate is closed after officers were called to the scene shortly before 8am. There are reports of disruption in the centre so one to watch out for.
Baby joy for local MP
And speaking of local MPs, one West Yorkshire MP had some exciting news yesterday...
Morley and Outwood MP Andrea Jenkyns gave birth to a healthy baby boy - on the same day Article 50 was triggered. They’ve named him Clifford George.

Local MP to lead Parliament debate over tampon tax
In other news this morning, local MP Paula Sherriff is to hold a debate in the House of Commons today to discuss the rising cost of female hygiene products.
The Dewsbury MP has long been a campaigner against the cost of sanitary products and VAT on them. The debate has been backed by Colne Valley MP Jason McCartney.
