Motorbike crash victim named

A motorcyclist who died following a collision in Sowerby Bridge on Monday has been named as Thomas Feather, from Sowerby Bridge.

Police are continuing to appeal for information following the collision which happened on Holmes Road, Sowerby Bridge, shortly after 4.40pm on Monday.

A black Yamaha motorcycle being ridden away from the direction of Sowerby Bridge Centre and a Silver Kia Cee’d car, which was travelling in the opposite direction, have been in collision on a bend in the road.

Officers are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision itself or who saw either vehicle immediately prior to the collision.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the police via 101, quoting log number 1308 of 9 October.

Barry says: “Huddersfield is a wonderful university town, bubbly, with so many good things. It’s got some problems but let’s face them and do something about it - and together let’s make a change.”

Barry is saying Cross Church Street is problematic but everywhere has streets like that.

He says Huddersfield is a lot better than Bradford, Halifax and Doncaster.

Liz Green fires back after Barry Sheerman sticks up for Huddersfield

Liz Green is talking about Huddersfield again today on her Radio Leeds breakfast show.

Yesterday she said Huddersfield isn’t the town it once was and needs to get its act together.

Barry Sheerman hit back, telling us what she was describing wasn’t the true essence of the town - and invited her to walk round with him to see it together.

And this morning Liz has spoken out again on her show!

She’s currently talking to Barry now.

100 Huddersfield people sought help for child sex offences last year

Our big story this morning is on figures released showing more than 100 people in Huddersfield sought help online after looking at child sex abuse images last year.

Child protection charity the Lucy Faithfull Foundation runs the website and is trying to spread the word, to help offenders address their behaviour.
