It's World Egg Day

Did you even know there was one?

Barry says: “Huddersfield is a wonderful university town, bubbly, with so many good things. It’s got some problems but let’s face them and do something about it - and together let’s make a change.”

Liz added: “I’ll show him my Huddersfield and he can show me the other side.”

She’s inviting callers to the show to let her know if they agree or disagree with Barry.

Future of Huddersfield Commission

Businesspeople, politicians and the public are working to improve the town centre, says Barry, and he says Liz isn’t wrong about it - she says it looks tired.

Liz Green fires back after Barry Sheerman sticks up for Huddersfield

Liz Green is talking about Huddersfield again today on her Radio Leeds breakfast show.

Yesterday she said Huddersfield isn’t the town it once was and needs to get its act together.

Barry Sheerman hit back, telling us what she was describing wasn’t the true essence of the town - and invited her to walk round with him to see it together.

And this morning Liz has spoken out again on her show!

She’s currently talking to Barry now.

Weather: Don't peg your washing out today!

It looks like we might be seeing the tail end of Hurricane Ophelia over the next couple of days.

Today in Huddersfield the Met Office is predicting rain for most of the day, getting heavier later into the evening - but it’s not going to be that chilly, with temperatures dropping only as low as 17c.

Tomorrow will start off drizzly but clear up around 9am, with some sunshine in the late afternoon and evening and highs of 17c.

Sunday looks to be a nice day, with sunshine and white cloud in the morning, becoming sunnier into the afternoon.

And on Monday temperatures look set to reach 20c.

However, the storm system linked to Hurricane Ophelia is due to arrive in the UK on Monday - which could mean frequent outbreaks of rain and blustery winds of 40-50mph.
