Kirklees Council has mobilised its entire fleet of 31 gritting lorries due to snowy conditions across Huddersfield.
The council said at 11am that all the gritters would be out on the 'priority network' for the next few hours 'to see us through this snow'.
A spokesman said: "If you're out and about take care and drive to conditions."
Several bus services have been affected by the weather, among them replacements buses between Penistone and Huddersfield.
A reminder that there are NO trains travelling from Huddersfield and Dewsbury this weekend due to work to upgrade signalling.
