IT’S anything but a hard-knock life for this performer.
Phoebe Roberts, 11, of Liversedge, is delighted to be starring as Annie which runs at The West Yorkshire Playhouse, Leeds, to January 15.
The Stuart Stage School pupil auditioned amongst hundreds of hopefuls and managed to steal the limelight.
Jill Bemrose, of Heckmondwike-based Stuart Stage School, said: “Phoebe made her professional debut at the tender age of seven in the UK tour of Doctor Dolittle alongside the legendary Tommy Steele.
“She has since appeared in Evita, Whistle Down the Wind, Joseph and Les Miserable and can be heard on the shows’ 25th anniversary CD.
“She is also a Mid-Associate of the Royal Ballet School and in August turned down a place at their full time school, The White Lodge, as she didn’t feel ready to leave home or turn her back on her love of musical theatre.
“Phoebe has thoroughly enjoyed rehearsals and had an exciting time with TV appearances and magazine shoots.”
She is appearing alongside Emmerdale actors Duncan Preston as Mr Warbucks and Verity Rushforth as Grace.
The show opened last week.
