Pupils are being asked to make a short film about the Tour de France as part of a competition.
Schools are invited to submit their two-minute movies on the 2014 Tour de France’s visit to Yorkshire.
Alternatively, they can look at the tour’s history, route, jerseys, bikes or the rules.
The competition, open to schools in Yorkshire, has been launched by the charity Sustrans. The film contest looks to celebrate the tour’s start in Yorkshire and will also form part of the Yorkshire Festival 2014 – an arts festival which will precede the Grand Depart.
Bonjour! Film Your Tour, will run until February 28 and aims to get school children excited about the 2014 Tour de France’s visit to Yorkshire.
The race comes to Calderdale and Huddersfield on July 6.
Hundreds of thousands are expected to watch the world’s top cyclists as they race through Elland, Ainley Top, Huddersfield and Holmfirth.
The highlight will be the tough climb up from Holmbridge to the top of Holme Moss.
Emma Peasland, Sustrans schools co-ordinator, said: “Sustrans has been working with schools across Yorkshire since 2004, and we always look for innovative ways to encourage children to take to two wheels.
“This competition is a fun way to get local children excited about the Tour de Yorkshire, learn some new skills, and hopefully they will catch the cycling bug too.”
Six winners will be announced on March 17 after being judged by a panel from Sustrans.
The winning films will be available for viewing online, shown at community cinemas throughout the region and on big screens throughout Yorkshire during the Grand Depart.
